Max's Vintage Baseball Party

Planning my boy's birthdays are always fun.  But I have to say this vintage baseball theme was one of my favorites!  Max loves baseball and his Mama loves vintage, so it was a perfect fit!  I had fun scouring thrift stores and my Mom's storage shed.  I also found a couple things online.  My sister's co-worker made me this awesome chalkboard sign.  I LOVE it!  Guests were greeted with an autograph station.  They were supposed to sign Max's personalized bat. However, Max had different plans! No one was going to write on his brand new bat!  I found mini bats online for the favors.  I tied a cute vintage thank you tag on each one.  I made them out of a vintage baseball valentine. I thought they turned out cute!

We had to have a candy buffet!

Vintage Double Bubble, Saltwater taffy and Home Sugar Cookies from Glory's Sweets and Treats.  They were so scrumptious!  I have seriously not tasted a better decorated sugar cookie! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Glorys-Sweets-Treats/283952728404108?fref=ts

I love Hammond's Lollipops and the all natural peppermint ones matched perfectly. I filled the Mason Ball storage jar with red vines.  I couldn't wait to use those jars!  Max plays on the Cubs this year so I ordered this vintage Cubs bobble head.   Like most of the items I found, I just love it! Not only was I able to use it for the party, it is a cute decoration for his room.

I made pennant flags for the centerpieces.  I filled simple paper bags with peanuts and homemade carmel corn.

I went for taste and not fancy decorations with the cake.  I got it from Moss Rose, a local bakery that has been around for decades.  They make their cakes from scratch and are so so  good!

I loved planning this party, but loved celebrating with this special boy even more!! We all had a blast.  The boys played baseball and drank coca cola all day long! It doesn't get much better than that!

A Kindergarten Vintage Candy Buffet

When I was asked to create a candy buffet for my niece's high school graduation I couldn't have been more thrilled.  She is a beautiful girl with an even more beautiful heart!  When I found out she wanted a vintage theme I was even more thrilled!! Here she is modeling with the candy buffet.

So I was having fun scouring Pinterest for ideas and shopping at the local hobby shops and thrift stores. A couple of weeks before the big day, I was asked to make a candy buffet for my other niece who had just graduated Kindergarten.   I have to admit I felt a little overwhelmed.  I was already doing my niece Sami's table and my nephews candy buffet who was also sharing the spot light at the party.  So I made up my mind, I would just use what I had on hand.  Purple pink and zebra was going to be the theme.  I had just done this party the previous month and had some things left over.
Well as I was putting things together a few days before the party, I hated how it looked! Especially next to my vintage table!! I was OVER zebra and hot pink!  I didn't have time to shop nor did I want to spend money for supplies.   I remembered I had this fabric that I got from my mom.  She had used it for a quilt she made me when I was a little girl. I loved it.  I started digging through storage bins.  I found some vintage lace fabric and some vintage books.  I spray painted a few things and gathered a few more things out of the garage.  I was actually loving how this table was turing out.  It was small. It was simple. Hey, it was for a kindergardener. I was so glad I changed up the theme because this table was going right next to the main candy buffet. It complemented the other table very nicely.  Much better than hot pink and zebra.  Here are a few pictures of the finished table.  Let me know what you think.

Vintage Candy Buffet

This past June my niece graduated from high school. I had the honor of creating a candy buffet for the graduation celebration.  She found a couple of pictures off of Pinterest for the inspiration. Here is the link to the Pinterest Board I did for some inspiration as well http://pinterest.com/shoomie/sami-s-vintage-grad-table/     I think it was a nice combination of her requests. I love everything vintage, so this was one of my favorites to design! I left my camera at home, so I only had my phone to take pictures.  I hope you love it as much I do!

Selena Gomez Candy Buffet

We celebrated my niece's birthday this past weekend and I had the pleasure of creating her candy buffet.  She had her heart set on a Selena Gomez/Music themed table.  She loves purple and pink and like most 8 year old little, girls, zebra print!  Last year I created the Lemonade Mouth table, which also had a music theme to it with some zebra print thrown in. This girl knows what she likes! I really enjoyed creating the table.  I hope you enjoy the pictures!
